With more than a decade in the field, with hundreds of hours of continuing education in all aspects of cosmetic dentistry, with a tremendous number of satisfied patients, Dr. Payet knows what is needed to help you.
Truly, one of the most important aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry is to know and understand all the different treatment options available today. Dr. Payet opened Smiles by Payet Dentistry in the Morrocroft Professional Park, in the South Park Mall area, and has been caring for patients since December 1999. Dr. Payet attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both his undergraduate studies and dental school, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and German, followed in 1998 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He moved to Charlotte immediately after graduating and has made it his home.
Besides his passion for learning and providing patients with the best care available, Dr. Payet enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience. He has been an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where he was part of the team that supervised and taught dental students as they began treating patients. In addition, he was invited to, and did serve as, a Clinical Mentor at the Ross Nash Institute for Advanced Dental Learning, which is widely regarded as one of the nation's premier post-graduate teaching facilities. In that capacity, he helped teach his colleagues the most advanced cosmetic dental techniques in use today.
He currently resides in Huntersville, NC with his wife, 2 daughters, and a couple dogs. While not originally from Charlotte, he has long roots in North Carolina, as his Mom's family is almost entirely from North Carolina. You can have that extra bit of confidence in Dr. Payet, knowing that his parents are also among his patients and have even let him do extensive dental work on them. He jokes with his patients that, if they're unhappy for any reason, they can call his Mom and Dad to complain, and he'll do anything to avoid that!
Just as important as his clinical expertise, though, is that Dr. Payet understands that - even when you want to be there - the dental office is a place you'd usually avoid, so he knows that you want to be relaxed and comfortable. He's not the greatest joke-teller, as he freely admits, but he loves to laugh and kid around with you; it's easy to feel as if you've known him for years, just as so many of his patients have.
